From 28th of March when Tayfun Balıkcı will take up his new role he intends to ensure that whilst general working principles are maintained, there is an increase in the productivity whilst reducing the overheads, to this end a number of additional operational tasks will be centralised to enable the branches to be more productive in generating more business.
The current central operations department is responsible for a number of duties including loans, cash management, account opening, data entry, credit card operations, physical and e-archiving, document management, cheque processing, and administrative tasks. Mr Balıkcı since joining the bank has been a big part of the implementation of centralization within İktisatbank, as well as bringing this important function to the forefront of the industry.
Mr Balıkcı’s management career started as Anatolian Side Area Manager for Turkiye Garanti Bankası, between 1996 and 2001 he worked as Commercial and Finance Manager then as Operations Manager respectively for the Bank of Roma Spa. In 2002 he continued his career with Netpa AŞ as Finance Director; during the years of 2006 to 2013 he worked for HSBC bank in a variety of positions including Operations Assistant Manager, Assistant Area Manager, and Branch Manager. In July 2013 Mr Balıkcı joined İktisatbank as Central Operations Group Manager, from the 28th of March 2014 he was promoted to Assistant General Manager of Operations overseeing the following departments: Central Loan Operations, Data Entry Operations, Cash Management, Cheque clearance, Foreign Trade and Transactions, Construction and Real Estate, Telecoms, Help Desk, Branch Support, Administration and Procurement, Security Management and Information Technology.
